Dear Alabama A&M family,
As I sit down to write this, I am overcome with thankfulness. This letter is from the bottom of my heart, expressing my love, thanks, and respect for everyone who has been a part of my path. From the moment I stepped onto “The Hill,” I knew this was more than a university; it was home.
You accepted me not only as an athlete, but also as a young guy learning, growing, and pursuing aspirations. I came here with raw ambition, unsure of how far I could go, but Alabama A&M provided me more than just a platform; it gave me roots. The coaches pushed me when I believed I had nothing left, my teammates became brothers, and what about the fans? You became part of the family.
Coach Maynor and the entire coaching staff, thank you for believing in me when I was still figuring myself out. You noticed something in me that I didn’t recognize in myself. You taught me more than just how to run better routes and analyze defenses; you also taught me discipline, accountability, and tenacity. These teachings will stick with me far beyond the football field.
To the fans, the true heartbeat of Bulldog Nation, your support has been unparalleled. You supported us whether we were battling in the trenches or celebrating in the end zone. You showed there, rain or shine, in the heat of the South. I will remember the applause, chants, and signs with my name forever. I did everything for you, from catching touchdowns to gaining yards.
Thank you to my teachers and academic staff for your patience and devotion to our development as student-athletes. You saw the need of maintaining a healthy balance and collaborated with us to ensure our success not only on Saturdays but throughout our lives. I’ll never forget that.
And thank you, Huntsville, for providing the backdrop for so many unforgettable experiences. This group embraced me with open arms, and I’ve felt the warmth ever since.
Now, as I prepare to take the next step in my life and profession, I am proud to be a Bulldog. No matter where this journey takes me, Alabama A&M will always be a part of my story. My spirit will always reverberate through Louis Crews Stadium, and my heart will always beat for Maroon & White.
This is not our final goodbye. It’s a thank-you. Thank you for transforming a child with a dream into a man with purpose.
