Jaxson Dart’s Open Letter to the Ole Miss Rebels Community
To the Oxford family as a whole, the amazing fans, and the Ole Miss Rebels,
The gratitude I feel for being a part of this unique group is beyond words. I sensed something different—something electric—as soon as I stepped foot at Ole Miss. Family, tradition, and a deep-seated love that binds us all together were more important than football alone.
As I look back on my journey today, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your everlasting love, support, and belief in me during my time at Oxford. You have accepted me not only as a quarterback but also as a member of the Rebel fraternity, which is something far greater.
A Path of Development and Possibilities
One of the most important choices I ever made in my life was to transfer to Ole Miss. It was a risk, a chance to take on a new challenge, and a chance to develop both personally and as a player. I knew I was supposed to be at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium from the first practice till my first game.
This program’s culture is based on perseverance, hard effort, and fraternity. I will always be thankful to Coach Lane Kiffin and the entire coaching staff for providing me with the direction and self-assurance I need to lead this squad. My leadership, discipline, and comprehension of what it means to be a Rebel have all improved significantly, in addition to my ability to analyze defenses and perform plays.
To My Brothers—My Team Members
Nothing we accomplish is accomplished alone, and football is the ultimate team sport. Thank you to my teammates for believing in me to lead this squad, for fighting with me, and for pushing me every day. I will always treasure the relationship we have formed. These are the times that define us, whether it’s the late-night movie sessions, the early-morning workouts, or the locker room celebrations following a fiercely contested victory.
To the Supporters—Rebel Nation’s Lifeblood
Nothing compares to taking the field and hearing the stadium tremble with the thunderous shout of over 60,000 Rebels. Your chants uplift us, your enthusiasm feeds us, and your unfailing faith in this squad motivates us to put our all into it. You show up, loud and proud, whether it’s a game at home under the lights or a difficult battle on the road.
You have welcomed me, helped me, and given me a sense of belonging. The moments that make being an Ole Miss Rebel so unique are when I see you in The Grove on game day, feel the energy in the air, and realize that I’m competing for something greater than myself.
A Commitment to Continue Fighting
This is just the beginning of the journey. I will keep giving it my all for this team, this university, and this town in every drive, every game, and every snap. We will work together to push the envelope, pursue greatness, and bring titles to Oxford.
