To the Texas Longhorns Family – my teammates, coaches, fans, and the burnt orange heartbeat that has powered me through every inning:

It’s difficult to find the right words to describe what this experience has meant to me. As I sit down to write this letter, I am filled with gratitude, contemplation, and pride. Wearing the Texas Longhorns uniform has been more than simply a game; it has been a calling, a mission, and a life-changing chapter that I will never forget.

I knew I was part of something extraordinary the instant I arrived upon the Austin campus. The roar of Red & Charline McCombs Field, the horns thrown high in the seats, and the tradition that resonated in every locker room speech—it all became familiar. Texas did more than simply educate me how to improve my softball skills. It taught me how to lead, collaborate, and be a resilient and strong woman.

Thank you, coaches, for believing in me. You pushed me to break down obstacles I didn’t think I could overcome. You sharpened my intuition, stimulated my competitive spirit, and reminded me that greatness is born in the details. You challenged me to lead by example and never stop learning. I am eternally grateful for your vision and trust.

To my teammates, we’ve created a sisterhood that extends beyond the field. Every ground ball we pursued, rally we started, and moment we had beneath the lights has become a tapestry of wonderful memories. You are more than just colleagues; you are my family. We transformed adversity into strength, and wins into legacy.

To the fans, your energy inspired us. Whether it was the early-season games or the intense postseason clashes, your voices were never quiet. Thank you for welcoming me with open arms, cheering my name, and making every play feel greater than the game. You reminded me why I play: not for myself, but for something bigger. The pride of being a Longhorn is profound, and your support made every second worthwhile.

Thank you to the whole Longhorn community for building a culture of quality, compassion, and purpose. From the academic advisors to the athletic staff, you’ve all contributed to the person I’ve become. You offered me a stage to shine and the means to overcome any obstacle.

This is not a farewell; it is a celebration of what we accomplished together. Wherever my path leads next, I will carry the Longhorn spirit with me. I will always be proud to say, “I am Texas.”

With all of my love and gratitude.
Mia Scott
