LSU Tigers Secure Commitment of 4-Star RB Desmond Reid. CBS News Report In a big recruiting coup, the LSU Tigers have received a commitment from 4-star All-American running back Desmond Reid, who switched his decision from the Pittsburgh Panthers. Reid’s statement is a big boost for LSU’s 2024 recruiting class, cementing the school’s image as a top destination for outstanding talent.

Desmond Reid, a top talent from Charlotte, North Carolina, has been a dominant force on the field throughout his high school career. Reid, who stands 5’11” and weighs 205 pounds, is recognised for his speed, power, and adaptability, which have earned him a spot among the nation’s most sought-after running backs. Reid rushed for over 4,500 yards and 60 touchdowns throughout his high school career, receiving accolades and All-American honours.

Reid expressed excitement about joining the LSU team in a statement announcing his decision. “After careful consideration, I’ve decided to commit to LSU,” he added. “The coaching staff’s vision, the passionate fanbase, and the chance to play in the SEC at a program with a winning tradition made this the best choice for me and my future.”

LSU head coach Brian Kelly praised Reid’s commitment and emphasised the impact the rising star is likely to have. “Desmond Reid is a tremendous athlete who possesses the desire and character we seek in our players. His skill set and work attitude will make him an invaluable asset to our team. “We’re excited to have him join the Tigers,” Kelly added.

Reid’s decision to leave Pittsburgh is a huge blow for the Panthers, who had been banking on him as a key member of their recruiting class. Meanwhile, LSU fans are applauding what they see as a game-changing addition to the backfield. With Reid’s pledge, the Tigers’ recruiting momentum continues, as they look to bolster their team for future SEC and national title runs. Reid’s arrival adds enthusiasm and great expectations to the Tigers’ preparations for the season ahead.
