Dear Baylor Bears Family, Devoted Fans, and the Entire Baylor University Community,
As I sit down to write this letter, my heart is full of love, humility, and great appreciation for the time I’ve spent with this incredible family. From the first day I arrived in Waco, we’ve been on a path of purpose, progress, and unwavering conviction in the power of unity, integrity, and faith.
When I took the position of head coach of the Baylor Bears football program, I knew I was taking on more than simply a job; it was a calling. And from the beginning, the Baylor community welcomed me and my family with open doors, open hearts, and a common mission that extended far beyond wins and defeats. You made Waco feel at home. You made Baylor feel purposeful.
Thank you, university leadership, for entrusting me with the honor and responsibility of heading this program. President Livingstone, Mack Rhoades, and the entire administration—your steadfast support, vision, and trust in our program’s potential created the groundwork for everything we’ve accomplished together. You led with grace, strength, and a Christ-centered devotion, and it made all the difference.
Thank you for putting your trust in me as a coach. You are the reason why we fight, lead, and serve. The greatest reward has been seeing you develop not only on the field, but also as young men of character, resilience, and faith. Every practice, every fourth-quarter battle, every moment of triumph and heartbreak—you demonstrated what it truly means to be a Baylor Bear.
My coaching staff and support team, your unwavering passion, wisdom, and loyalty have been the driving force in our culture. We didn’t merely make plays; we also built individuals. I’m pleased of what we’ve created: a program founded on love, learning, accountability, and progress.
Thank you, Baylor football fans. Thank you for turning up, believing, cheering, and persevering through the ups and downs with patience and enthusiasm. Your enthusiasm elevated us, from the electrifying Saturdays at McLane Stadium to the emotional “Sic ‘Em Bears” chants heard across the state. Your faith sustained us. You’ve created memories with us that will last for years to come.
And to the entire Baylor community—alumni, teachers, students, and supporters—you’ve taught me the true meaning of being a part of something bigger than yourself. Baylor is a place where faith and football go hand in hand. A place where brilliance is expected and grace is never forgotten.
I will carry you all with me wherever my road leads. What we constructed together—the lessons, the connections, the mission—will bind us forever.
