Dear Purdue Boilermakers, devoted fans, and the entire Boilermaker Family,

As I write this from a place of profound introspection, my heart is full of appreciation and emotion. This letter is more than a farewell; it is an homage to a community that welcomed me, believed in me, and provided me with the framework to grow not only as a quarterback but also as a man.

When I initially arrived in West Lafayette, I was both excited and nervous. I knew I was entering a program rich in tradition, pride, and unrelenting dedication to greatness. What I didn’t realize at the time was that I was also joining a family. A family that would be there for me through every win, challenge, and life lesson.

Thank you, Purdue coaching staff, for taking a chance on me. You recognized something in me that went beyond statistics and highlight reels. You believed in my abilities, leadership, and heart. Under your leadership, I learnt what it is to be accountable, persevere, and lead with humility. You showed me how to overcome adversity and remain centered in purpose. Your mentorship has shaped me in ways that I will remember for the rest of my life.

To my teammates, you are my brothers. We’ve sweated together, trained together, enjoyed tremendous victories, and learnt from difficult defeats. You pushed me to improve every day, not only as a player, but as a person. The experiences we’ve built in the locker room, on the field, and over long nights working toward a common objective will never fade. I’m delighted to have worn the black and gold with you.

Thank you, fans. You filled Ross-Ade Stadium with enthusiasm. You wore your heart on your sleeves every Saturday. You believed in us despite the odds. Your cheers, chants, and constant presence meant more than you could ever know. Whether I was on the field or wandering about campus, I could always feel your love and support. It uplifted me. It motivated me. It reminded me of why I decided to be a Boilermaker.

Thank you to the whole Purdue community, including students, professors, alumni, and supporters, for fostering an atmosphere in which I could thrive. You welcomed me to your classrooms, communities, and traditions. You taught me the genuine definition of Boilermaker spirit: tenacity, perseverance, and pride in something greater than ourselves.

As I change the page to a new chapter, I carry all of you with me. Purdue shaped me. It improved my character, polished my thinking, and strengthened my spirit. Regardless of where this path takes me, I will always bleed black and gold.

Malachi Singleton expresses eternal thanks and Boilermaker pride.
“Once a boilermaker, always a boilermaker.”
