Early Returns on Vikings Undrafted Free Agent Show He’ll Make the League Regret Passing on Him

The Minnesota Vikings may have found another diamond in the rough. Early offseason workouts and minicamps are generating buzz around several undrafted free agents, particularly linebacker Ivan Pace Jr., whose play is turning heads in a big way. Pace, who went unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft, is already showing the instincts, physicality, and football IQ of a seasoned pro—prompting some within the organization to wonder how he slipped through the cracks.

Pace’s college resume was elite. A unanimous All-American at Cincinnati, he led the nation in tackles for loss and was one of the most productive defenders in the country. Despite those accolades, concerns about his size and speed may have caused him to go undrafted. Now, he’s making every team that passed on him reconsider.

He’s not alone. The Vikings are seeing strong showings from other undrafted signings as well. Cornerback Dwight McGlothern, a transfer from LSU to Arkansas, has impressed with his length, athleticism, and aggressive coverage skills. He’s showing early promise as a potential rotational player or special teams contributor in 2025.

Linebackers Dorian Mausi and Austin Keys are also flashing upside. Both players bring a mix of size, speed, and toughness that has the coaching staff excited about their development. With the team’s defensive unit in transition, their versatility could prove valuable.

On offense, tight end Ben Yurosek—who played at Stanford and Georgia—is making plays in the passing game and has shown strong hands and crisp route-running. His basketball background translates well, giving him an edge in contested catch situations.

Minnesota has a strong history of developing undrafted talent, and early returns suggest 2025 could be another breakout year. With Ivan Pace Jr. leading the charge, the Vikings’ latest crop of UDFAs could soon make the league regret not calling their names on draft weekend.
