Due to Unforseen Circumstances, Caleb Williams Terminate Contract, Part-Ways with chicago bears. See details

As of now, there is no information indicating that Caleb Williams has terminated his contract or parted ways with the Chicago Bears. In fact, Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, signed a four-year, fully guaranteed $39 million rookie deal with the Bears in July 2024, which includes a $25.5 million signing bonus and a fifth-year team option.

During the contract negotiations, there was some confusion regarding representation. Williams stated that he was not personally handling the negotiations, mentioning, “My lawyers and attorney and everybody, the head of the Bears, everybody up there up top is handling that.” This led to questions since Williams did not have an NFLPA-certified agent, and NFL rules stipulate that teams can only negotiate with certified agents or the players themselves. The Bears confirmed to the league that they were communicating directly with Williams.

Despite these initial complications, the contract was finalized, and Williams has been participating in team activities since then. There have been no reports of any contract termination or separation between Williams and the Bears.
