Ty Haywood, a highly-touted offensive tackle from Denton, Texas, has committed to the University of Michigan for the 2025 NCAA football season. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 285 pounds, Haywood is ranked as the nation’s No. 6 offensive tackle and the No. 39 overall recruit in the 2025 class.

 

Originally committed to Alabama in July 2024, Haywood reopened his recruitment and took official visits to several programs, including Michigan, Florida State, and Texas Tech. His visit to Ann Arbor in January 2025 played a pivotal role in his decision to join the Wolverines.

 

Haywood’s commitment bolsters Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class, which now ranks No. 6 nationally according to 247Sports Composite. He joins an impressive group of offensive line recruits, including five-star Andrew Babalola, four-star Avery Gach, and three-star Kaden Strayhorn.

 

Known for his imposing size and impressive length, Haywood has been praised for his explosive power and strong hands, making him a formidable presence on the offensive line.
