An Open Letter From Jack Drury
To the Colorado Avalanche, their amazing supporters, and the entire Avalanche community,
There are times in life when thankfulness transcends words—when the heart speaks louder than anything written. It’s one of those moments.
From the minute I joined this organisation, I felt the passion, determination, and unshakeable commitment to excellence that define the Colorado Avalanche. To my teammates, coaches, and everyone who has helped shape my journey, you have provided me with more than just a place to play hockey. You’ve given me a home, a family, and a standard of excellence to aim for every day.
To the fans, there is nothing like Avalanche Nation. The enthusiasm you bring to Ball Arena, the loyalty you demonstrate throughout the season, and the way you support our team through all highs and lows is inspiring. You don’t just watch the game; you experience it. You make each shift, score, each moment on the ice feel like more than just a game. It’s a bond that transcends victories and defeats—it’s based on passion, dedication, and love for the crest we wear.
And to the whole Avalanche community—those who support us, who shape Colorado hockey, and who have created an atmosphere in which players can grow, prosper, and become a part of something bigger—you are at the core of this journey. The love and encouragement you’ve given me throughout the years have been essential, influencing me not only as a player but also as a person.
Hockey is more than just a sport. It is a way of life. It instills resilience, camaraderie, and the value of playing for something greater than oneself. Being a member of the Avalanche has reaffirmed all of these ideals, which I carry with me every time I go on the ice.
No matter where this road takes me, one thing stays constant: my gratitude for this experience, this team, and the people who have made this journey so important. The Avalanche represent brilliance, and I am honoured to have been a part of their narrative.
Thank you for everything. The trip continues.
With gratitude and respect,
Jack Drury
