An Epochal Open Letter by Juan Soto

To the New York Mets organisation, loyal fans, and the whole Mets community:

As I sit here contemplating on my experience, I feel a strong feeling of thankfulness and humility. The last few years have been nothing short of remarkable, and I owe so much of it to this organisation, its devoted fan base, and the greater Mets family, which has embraced me with open arms. I write this letter to express my heartfelt gratitude for your consistent love, support, and opportunity to grow as an athlete and a person.

Thank you, New York Mets organisation, for believing in me. From the minute I put on the iconic blue and orange, I felt the weight of the franchise’s history and the immense responsibility that comes with representing this club. Your belief in my ability and commitment to creating an atmosphere in which I could thrive have been critical to my growth both on and off the pitch. The leadership, coaching, and direction I’ve received have not only improved my playing abilities, but also shaped my character.

To my teammates, you are more than colleagues; you are family. The relationships we’ve formed in the locker room, on the pitch and throughout the season have been a source of strength and inspiration. Playing alongside such talented, devoted, and enthusiastic people has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. We’ve had wins and struggles, and I’m grateful for every moment.

To the fans: you are the lifeblood of this franchise. Your enthusiasm, passion, and loyalty are unparalleled, and it has been a true honour to play for you. From Citi Field’s explosive roars to the sea of Mets jerseys in towns around the country, your support has served as a daily reminder of why I love this game. Whether we were celebrating a triumph or recovering from a defeat, your presence was always felt, and it inspired me to give my all every day.

Thank you to the Mets community for accepting me as one of their own. The compassion and decency I’ve encountered off the pitch, from meeting fans at events to working with communities around New York, have left an indelible impression on me. Your constant support has inspired me not just to strive for excellence as a player, but also to give back and improve the lives of others.

This trip has been full of joy, learning, and progress, and I am eternally glad to have shared it with you all. The Mets are more than simply a team to me; they are a family, a history, and a symbol of perseverance and tenacity.

I look ahead to the future with much pride and hope. We’ve created something wonderful together, and I’m enthusiastic about the trip ahead. Thank you for everything you’ve given me; your love and support will live on in my heart forever.
