To the entire MotoGP family, my cherished supporters worldwide, and Ducati Corse,
I send this letter from the bottom of my heart and with a great deal of thanks, not only as a rider but also as someone whose life has been molded by the sound of engines, the race for milliseconds, and the unshakable affection of all of you who have supported me through every turn, collision, and checkered flag.
Fueled by passion, tenacity, and the spirit of a global community that believed in me, my adventure in MotoGP has been more than simply a career—it has been a lifetime lived at 300 km/h. My time with the Ducati Corse is one of the most memorable periods of my racing career. In addition to being a professional honor, riding for an Italian team and displaying my native colors was a very personal event. Yes, we had difficulties, but we overcame them as a team, resolute and unwavering. And that is more valuable than any trophy in my opinion.
I want to express my gratitude to the amazing engineers, mechanics, and employees at Ducati Corse for accepting me into your family, for your unwavering dedication in the garage, and for believing in our potential. You made me realize that racing is about more than just equipment; it’s about the human spirit that goes into each wrench turn and every tactic developed in the background.
No motor could ever carry me as far as my admirers, I miei tifosi, have. I was strengthened by your shouts, flags, and unwavering devotion, whether we were in Indianapolis, Sepang, or Mugello. You supported me through triumph and setback, through rain and sunshine. Every day, your enthusiasm brought back memories of my early love for this activity in Tavullia as a young lad. I always raced with my heart on fire because of you.
And I owe more than just a platform to the MotoGP community, which includes riders, teams, organizers, and supporters. I have a home thanks to you. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this sport’s heyday, sharing the track with future stars and legends. It has changed so much over the years.
I was able to develop not just as a rider but also as a person because of the atmosphere you guys established, which is one of intense rivalry, respect for one another, and unrestricted creativity. I’ll always be thankful for that.
Even if I may no longer be racing at full speed, my spirit will always be on the grid. I’ll keep encouraging this sport, mentoring the upcoming generation, and paying tribute to the heritage we created—together.
I’m grateful for the love, the memories, the struggles, and the victories. Grazie Mille, from the bottom of my heart.
With affection,
Rossi, Valentino
