Fox News: FINALLY HE’S BACK: Dorance Armstrong Announces Comeback to Dallas Cowboys… See more

In a surprising turn of events, defensive end Dorance Armstrong has announced his return to the Dallas Cowboys for the upcoming 2025 NFL season. Armstrong, who spent the 2024 season with the Washington Commanders, reunites with the team that drafted him in 2018.

Armstrong’s initial tenure with the Cowboys spanned six seasons, during which he developed into a formidable pass rusher. His breakout years came in 2022 and 2023, recording 8.5 and 7.5 sacks respectively, solidifying his reputation as a consistent defensive threat.

In March 2024, Armstrong signed a three-year contract with the Washington Commanders, reuniting with former Cowboys defensive coordinator and then-Commanders head coach, Dan Quinn. During his stint in Washington, Armstrong started all 15 games he played, contributing 5 sacks and 26 tackles.

Despite his contributions, the Commanders faced challenges throughout the season, leading to organizational changes. Armstrong’s return to Dallas is seen as a strategic move to bolster the Cowboys’ defensive line, especially with the team’s aspirations for a deep playoff run in 2025.

Cowboys’ head coach Mike McCarthy expressed enthusiasm about Armstrong’s return, stating, “Dorance brings experience and a proven track record. His familiarity with our system will be invaluable as we aim for success this season.”

Armstrong’s return is expected to provide a significant boost to the Cowboys’ pass rush, complementing fellow defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence. Fans eagerly anticipate seeing Armstrong back in the Cowboys’ uniform, hoping his presence will contribute to a dominant defensive performance in the upcoming season.
