Rock legends Ozzy Osbourne and Billy Morrison have once again joined forces to release a reimagined version of their 2015 track, “Gods Of Rock N Roll.” This new rendition, enhanced with a 61-piece orchestra and choir, also features a guest appearance by renowned guitarist Steve Stevens. The single is slated for official release on February 14, 2025, under the TLG|ZOID label, distributed by Virgin Music Group.
Despite its official release date, “Gods Of Rock N Roll” has already made a significant impact on the music scene. The track premiered on SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard channel in January and has since climbed to No. 26 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. This early success mirrors the achievement of their previous collaboration, “Crack Cocaine,” which reached No. 1 on Mediabase’s Active Rock chart in 2024.
The original version of “Gods Of Rock N Roll” was the closing track on Morrison’s 2015 album, “God Shaped Hole.” This updated orchestral version will be included as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of Morrison’s 2024 album, “The Morrison Project,” set for digital release on February 21, 2025, with a vinyl edition to follow on March 7.
In addition to their musical collaborations, Osbourne and Morrison co-host the “Ozzy Speaks” show on SiriusXM, reflecting a long-standing friendship and creative partnership. Their synergy continues to resonate with fans, as evidenced by the early chart success of “Gods Of Rock N Roll.”
However, amidst this musical triumph, Osbourne is currently facing legal challenges. Photographer Neil Zlozower has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Osbourne, alleging unauthorized use of his photographs on Osbourne’s official social media accounts. Despite these issues, the anticipation for the upcoming single remains high.
Fans can look forward to the official release of “Gods Of Rock N Roll” on February 14, 2025, and the deluxe edition of “The Morrison Project” on February 21, 2025.
