LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Women’s Tennis program announced the signing of talented international standout Sara Sarinova to the 2025 roster, head coach Adam Herendeen revealed Tuesday morning. Sarinova will join the Lady Raiders ahead of the upcoming season and is expected to be an immediate contributor both on and off the court.
A native of Presov, Slovakia,Sarinova has been one of the most promising players on the international junior circuit. She brings a wealth of experience from competing in high-level International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournaments and has accumulated a number of impressive victories against top junior competitors. Her all-court style, athleticism, and strong competitive mentality have made her a consistent performer at the international level.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sara to Texas Tech,” said Herendeen. “She’s a tremendous talent who has competed at a very high level internationally and brings a lot of maturity, discipline, and versatility to our team. She’s the kind of player who fits our culture and vision perfectly, and we’re excited to see her grow in Lubbock.”
Throughout her junior career, Sarinova has posted several notable wins against highly ranked ITF opponents and has competed in both singles and doubles at a variety of prestigious events across Europe and beyond. She reached multiple ITF quarterfinals and semifinals over the past two seasons and has represented her home country in international team competitions, including the European Junior Championships.
Off the court, Sarinova is equally accomplished. She has maintained a strong academic record throughout her high school career and has been recognized for her leadership and dedication to community service. Fluent in several languages and praised for her poise and professionalism, Sarinova is viewed as a well-rounded student-athlete who will bring both character and competitiveness to the Red Raiders.

The addition of Sarinova comes as Texas Tech continues to build a strong foundation under Herendeen, who is entering his [insert year, e.g., second] year as head coach of the women’s tennis program. The Red Raiders are looking to climb the Big 12 standings and return to national prominence, and Sarinova’s signing marks another step in that direction.
Texas Tech will begin preparations for the fall season later this summer, with Sarinova expected to arrive on campus ahead of the team’s preseason training. Her presence will add depth to a roster that features a mix of returning experience and promising young talent.
