The NC State Wolfpack women’s basketball team has been named the Team of the Week following a thrilling victory over No. 6 Notre Dame, solidifying their position as a formidable force in the ACC.
The Wolfpack, currently ranked in the top 10, delivered a statement win against the Fighting Irish, defeating them 72-64 in a hard-fought battle on Sunday. The win not only strengthens NC State’s NCAA Tournament resume but also keeps them in contention for a top seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament.
Dominant Performance Against Notre Dame
Led by standout guard Aziaha James, who dropped a game-high 24 points, and center River Baldwin, who controlled the paint with 12 rebounds and 3 blocks, NC State executed a well-balanced offensive and defensive game plan. The Wolfpack’s defensive intensity forced Notre Dame into 15 turnovers, capitalizing on fast-break opportunities to maintain their lead in the second half.
