Oilers Acquire Trent Frederic, Max Jones, and Petr Hauser in a Trade Deal

Edmonton, AB – March 7, 2025 – The Edmonton Oilers have announced the acquisition of forward Trent Frederic, forward Max Jones, and defenseman Petr Hauser in a significant trade deal aimed at bolstering their lineup for the remainder of the season. The Oilers have acquired these talented players from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for draft picks and a combination of roster players.

Trent Frederic brings a unique combination of size, grit, and offensive upside. Known for his physical play and leadership on and off the ice, Frederic adds depth to the Oilers’ forward group. With a reputation for being a strong presence in both ends of the rink, Frederic is expected to complement the team’s top players and bring a more dynamic, versatile approach to their offensive schemes.

Max Jones, a powerful and speedy winger, also joins the Oilers in this trade. A former first-round pick, Jones has displayed an ability to score and create opportunities for his teammates while maintaining a physical edge. His combination of speed and tenacity makes him a valuable addition to Edmonton’s forward corps, adding both skill and a hard-nosed attitude to the team’s roster.

Petr Hauser, a highly touted defenseman, rounds out the trade package. Hauser is known for his strong two-way play, smart positioning, and ability to contribute offensively from the back end. As a young, promising blueliner, Hauser’s addition provides the Oilers with added depth on defense, bolstering their ability to compete at the highest level.

“We are excited to add Trent, Max, and Petr to our team,” said Oilers General Manager Ken Holland. “Each of these players brings a unique set of skills that we believe will complement our existing core and help us push for a deep playoff run. We’ve been looking to add more depth to our forward group and bolster our defense, and we feel we’ve accomplished that with this trade.”

The Oilers are committed to making the necessary moves to improve their competitiveness, and the acquisition of Frederic, Jones, and Hauser is seen as an important step toward achieving that goal.

The Oilers’ management and coaching staff are eager to see the new additions in action and look forward to integrating them into the team’s lineup. The team will continue to prepare for their upcoming games as they work toward positioning themselves for a successful playoff campaign.
