Report: Kevin Durant is interested in one new team.

The franchise that has been after Kevin Durant for almost ten years may finally be warming up to him.

Miami-based store On Saturday, Five Reasons Sports revealed that the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns standout Durant have similar interests. Following significant speculation that the Suns might deal away former MVP Durant this offseason, the story was released.

In a press conference earlier this week, Heat president Pat Riley also stated that, under the right circumstances, the team would consider making a trade for an elderly player. Although Riley made no mention of Durant by name, many conjectured that the 36-year-old would be a good match for Miami.

Durant is easier to deal because he will be entering the last season of his contract next year at $54.7 million. With Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, two good 20-somethings, the Heat might use a third seasoned player to finish the puzzle (basically to fill the Jimmy Butler role). However, they were swept out of the first round this season.

It should be mentioned that Miami has previously made several attempts to sign Durant. Before Durant finally signed with the Golden State Warriors, the Heat were in the running for him in 2016 and even managed to meet with him as a free agent. Additionally, Miami has attempted to get Durant in the past, including in 2022 before the Brooklyn Nets sent him to Phoenix.

Naturally, there will be fierce competition for the 15-time NBA All-Star Durant sweepstakes, as he continues to average over 26 points per game on efficient shooting. The Heat may have a great chance to jump in here, though, as several rumored Durant suitors are already succeeding without him.
