The Minnesota Wild will play the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night in an attempt to win three straight games. The fact that they are still in the Western Conference playoff picture is evidence of their strong start and their determination to not allow growing ailments to ruin their hopes of making the playoffs in 2025.

. The Minnesota Wild, with 83 points, are six points ahead of the Blues (77 points) and five ahead of the Canucks (76 points), who are presently fighting for the second and final wild card place. This is the first of two wild card seeds in the West with just 13 games left in the regular season.

Given the positive news we finally received on the injury front on Friday, it would take a lot for the Wild to drop out of the postseason picture at this point. After sustaining a knee injury on Wednesday night, it appears that Marco Rossi will play this weekend, according to Michael Russo of The Athletic. Better yet, Jonas Brodin and Marcus Johansson are anticipated to accompany him.

David Jiricek, the defenseman for the Minnesota Wild, whom President of Hockey Operations Bill Guerin traded a first-round pick for earlier this season, was sent down to Iowa a few hours after the tweet above. He had been a healthy scratch for the previous five games, which virtually assured Brodin’s return on Saturday. Since February 28, he has not been in the Wild lineup. Johansson was absent during Wednesday’s victory over the Kraken.

Throughout his age 31 season, Jonas Brodin has had difficulty maintaining his health. Between November and March, he missed a total of 22 games, costing the Wild one of their most dependable blue-liners ever. Brodin has averaged 22:42 TOI and is a +10 with 18 points (4 goals) in his 38 games.
