Texas Christian Robinson to Miss Rest of Season for Already Short Texas Team Due to Wrist Injury
Austin, TX – Texas Longhorns forward Christian Robinson will miss the remainder of the 2024-2025 season due to a wrist injury, head coach Rodney Terry confirmed Monday. The injury further depletes an already short-handed Texas roster that has faced significant injury struggles throughout the season.
Robinson, a 6-foot-9 sophomore, has been a key contributor for the Longhorns this year, providing valuable depth in both scoring and defense. However, following a recent MRI, it was determined that Robinson’s wrist injury would require surgical intervention, effectively ending his season.
“We’re obviously devastated for Christian,” said Coach Terry in a statement. “He’s been an important part of our team, and this injury is a tough break. We will continue to support him as he begins his recovery process, and we know he will come back stronger next season.”
The Longhorns have already been operating with a limited roster due to several key injuries to players earlier in the season. The loss of Robinson now leaves Texas even thinner in the frontcourt, with the team already facing difficult competition in the Big 12 Conference.
Despite the setback, Texas will look to other players to step up and fill the void left by Robinson’s absence. Senior guard Marcus Carr, along with promising underclassmen, will likely see an increased role as the team adjusts to the loss.
Fans and teammates alike have rallied around Robinson, with many sending messages of encouragement on social media. Robinson himself expressed gratitude for the support, vowing to remain focused on his rehabilitation.
“I’ll be back,” Robinson said in a social media post. “Thank you to everyone for the support. This is just a setback, and I’m determined to come back stronger than ever.”
The Longhorns, who have struggled with consistency all season, will now have to navigate a difficult stretch of games without one of their most versatile players. As the season progresses, the team will rely on its resilience and depth to make a push for the NCAA tournament.
Texas is set to face off against rivals Baylor this Saturday, and while Robinson’s absence will be felt, the Longhorns are determined to continue battling for a strong finis
h to the season.
