NBA rumors: An insider provides a sobering update regarding Kristaps Porzingis’ unexplained illness and availability for the remaining Celtics vs. Knicks games

According to reports, Kristaps Porzingis is unlikely to fully recover if he participates in the Boston Celtics’ remaining playoff series against the New York Knicks.

Boston supporters know they will need Kristaps Porzingis if they hope to overcome their 2-0 playoff disadvantage. But because of an ailment he can’t seem to get rid of, he has only played 27 minutes in the first two games. Shams Charania, an NBA insider for ESPN, provided an update on his health on Friday. Furthermore, the news was anything but good.

As far as I can tell, he has been coping with residual symptoms from the virus he contracted in March. Charania stated on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he has had to rely on obtaining a lot more sleep over the past few months because it has depleted his energies.

I’ve been told that he has had to take immunological boosters and IVs. He has looked for ways to lessen it. He has undergone a number of tests. Furthermore, they are unable to determine which virus this might be. They believe it has only been these persistent side effects.

Statistics for Kristaps Porzingis in 2024–2025: 19.5 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 2.1 APG, 1.5 SPG, and 41% 3PT

This past season, the former All-Star appeared in 42 games. In a career full with ailments, that was the lowest point. It was hoped that he had recovered completely from the illness by the end of the season. But a major issue is its resurgence and the fact that doctors are unable to identify the virus.

The Boston Celtics could definitely use the 7-foot-2 big man’s rim protection in addition to his scoring ability. and protection from Karl-Anthony Towns. In this series, Al Horford has had trouble defending the All-Star forward.
