British progressive rock legends Uriah Heep have announced their final global tour, “The Magician’s Farewell,” set to commence in February 2025. This tour marks the band’s 55th anniversary and is expected to span two to three years, allowing fans worldwide a last opportunity to experience their dynamic live performances.
In a heartfelt video message released on September 19, 2024, founding guitarist Mick Box reflected on the band’s storied career, stating: “Who can believe next year is 55 years since the band started? Unfortunately, we have made the decision to wind down touring the whole world next year under the title of ‘The Magician’s Farewell.’ Over the next two to three years, we intend to play as many places as possible and see you all for the one last time.”
The UK leg of the tour will kick off on February 19, 2025, in Birmingham, followed by performances in Bristol, Gateshead, Glasgow, Manchester, London, and Bexhill. Tickets for these dates went on sale on September 27, 2024.
While “The Magician’s Farewell” signifies the end of extensive global touring for Uriah Heep, the band plans to continue performing at select festivals and special events. Mick Box emphasized, “We will continue to play shows, but these will be limited to festivals and weekends and things like that.”
Formed in 1969, Uriah Heep has been a cornerstone of the progressive rock scene, with a legacy spanning over five decades. Their 25th studio album, “Chaos & Colour,” released in 2023, showcases the band’s enduring passion and musical prowess.
