When Wayne Gretzky takes on Caitlin Clark of the Fever, one thing becomes evident.

Caitlin Clark, 22, a guard with the Indiana Fever, celebrates during a game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse between the Indiana Fever and the New York Liberty.

Since making her collegiate basketball debut, Caitlin Clark has undoubtedly illuminated the sports world. She now plays for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA, but the spotlight has followed her everywhere. The league and women’s sports in general have never garnered as many views as her talent. Wayne Gretzky, the greatest hockey player of all time, praised Clark much for her achievements as a professional athlete.

Gretzky mentioned Clark on a guest visit on the Jason and Travis Kelce-hosted podcast “New Heights” when talking about what makes sports so amazing. The Hall of Famer merely adores how Caitlin Clark’s incredible talent has swept the sports globe, not just the WNBA. He finds that admirable in both Clark and athletics in general.

“Observe how Caitlin Clark has completely dominated the nation. Or perhaps the entire world. She has now inspired a great number of young girls to play sports. Whether it’s volleyball, basketball, or soccer.

“The best thing about sports is that you learn so much about real life,” my dad used to remark. You learn how to work hard, be dedicated, practice selflessness, and learn how to succeed. And when you lose, you learn how to get back up after yourself. And that’s the main purpose of existence. As a fan, I really adore it, and I have a great deal of admiration for many of these sportsmen that emerge these days.
