An Epochal Open Letter from John Force to Fans and the Racing Community
To My Beloved Fans, Supporters, and the Entire Racing Family,
As I sit down to write this letter, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve shared—decades of speed, triumph, heartbreak, and unwavering determination. Drag racing isn’t just a sport to me; it’s been my life, my passion, and my identity. Today, I want to speak to you not just as John Force, the racer, but as John Force, the man who owes everything to this sport and to all of you.
The roar of the engine, the smell of burning rubber, and the thrill of crossing the finish line have defined my world. But none of it would have mattered without the fans in the stands, the crew members in the pits, and the countless people behind the scenes who keep this industry alive. You’ve cheered me on through victory laps and stood by me through crashes and losses. For that, I am eternally grateful.
The racing world is changing. Technology, sponsorships, safety measures—everything is evolving at lightning speed. And while change is inevitable, one thing must remain constant: the spirit of competition, the drive to win, and the love for the race. As someone who’s been in the driver’s seat for most of my life, I feel a responsibility to ensure that the next generation of racers has the same opportunities I did—to dream big, to push limits, and to leave their mark on the track.
But I can’t do it alone. It takes all of us—the fans, the teams, the sponsors, and the governing bodies—to protect the legacy of this sport and steer it into a brighter future. Whether you’re a kid dreaming of your first race or a veteran fan who’s followed my every run, you are part of this journey.
As for me, I don’t know how many more races are left in this old body, but I can promise you this: as long as there’s fuel in my tank and fire in my heart, I’ll keep pushing that pedal to the floor.
Thank you for standing by me, for believing in me, and for being part of this incredible ride. Let’s keep the legacy of drag racing alive—together.
With gratitude and respect,
John Force
